Hi Daniel,
I have installed these patches and am now unable to upgrade Linux-Clients with encrypted control communication switched on – any idea, what might be the problem?
Bernhard
Hi Bernhard,
as this already happened with previous versions, you might need to open a case.
A workaround might be to disable ECC, distribute clients and enable ECC again.
Best regards
Daniel
We deployed these patches 3 weeks ago and had major issues with Data Protector. We backup to a local HP StoreOnce, then an automated object copy initiates a replication of that data to the StoreOnce at another site, and then a final automated object copy will copy the data at the remote StoreOnce onto tape at the remote site. This final object copy will fail immediately with the error \”Invalid object version specified.\” (it\’s always the 2nd object copy, the first object copy always works).
If you manually try and initiate an object copy the data at the remote site StoreOnce is not available for selection as the source session.
Our workaround was to re-installed the DPWINBDL_00812.exe update and then re-apply the patches DPWIN_00697.exe, DPWIN_00698.exe and DPWIN_00699.exe.
I have been able to reproduce this issue with a fresh cell manager and using two HP StoreOnce VSAs. HP Support have escalated the issue to their lab team, hopefully they can produce a hotfix.
I also tested the 8.13 update that has just been released and the issue still remains after that.
Hi Chris
We have a similar problem with “Import Catalog” from a expired tape. This tape was generated by a Object Copy form a SoftwareStoreOnce.
And: I have not applied the patches 700,701 and 725. My patchlevel is BDL 812, 697,698 and 699.
Any hints?
Hi Gottfried,
I recommend to open a support case for this problem. Using tapeanalyser the support could check what’s going wrong during the import.
Best regards
Daniel
