Data Protector 9 – GR Patches 09.01 (Build 101)

On 2014/10/30 HP released new patches for Linux, HP-UX and Windows. The patch bundle 9.01 is required as prerequisite. It is strongly recommended to read the full description of the bundle.

If you own a valid support contract you can download the patches from https://softwaresupport.hp.com/. Access requires the HP Passport account.

Download the patches as usual and install in following order: Patch Bundle 9.01, Core, Cell Server. If you encounter problems with the links listed below, please use F5 to refresh the browser session.

– Windows – DPWIN_00712 – Core

– Windows – DPWIN_00711 – Cell Server

– Linux – DPLNX_00317 – Core

– Linux – DPLNX_00316 – Cell Server

– HP-UX – DPUX_00029 – Core

– HP-UX – DPUX_00028 – Cell Server

  1. Interesting enough with Google Chrome DPWIN_00711 – Cell Server patch page showed only the header of the page, ending with the summary that this is a critical patch but no download. With IE 11 the page showed the other options so that I could download the file.
    Checking the HP forums I’m a bit unsure if an upgrade to 7,8 or 9 is worth the problems we will face 🙂

    • Hi Bernd,

      it does not matter which browser you use. I experience the same behaviour with IE.
      It might be related to the Content Delivery Network used for the downloads.
      If you stay with Chrome and press Refresh or Close an open the page again, in most cases the download will appear.

      Regarding DP 8.XX or 9.0X – yes it’s worth to upgrade, even if the upgrade can cause problems.

  2. Hello Bernd,

    hands off from DP 8! My colleges are running from one problem to another. HP support is not able to save the problems (normal behaviour!), Now they try an update to DP 9, but nobody knows how this will go. I have running DP 7 on RHEL quite stable!

  3. i cant download it askme to acces with user and password y put it an then says to me acces dnied your user cannot download it it any other way to fix this ??

    i have this issue do you know if this patch solve it ??

      Otherwise you are not allowed to download updates.
