We get an error starting CRS after upgrading to 9.04:
Event 7024 The Data Protector CRS service terminated with service-specific error The requested operation cannot be performed in full-screen mode.
Anyone have a solution, or the settings for registry for service:omniback_crs

It was solved by reverting to backup done before patch, and then by installing new (with no windows active, data protector services running and without virus scanner active).
The first atempt was with: (with service windows active, data protector services NOT running and with virus scanner active).

Had the same error with 9.05. Data Protector services stopped before upgrade.
Rebooted server and disabled virus scanner (it was active on first attempt).
Reinstalled 9.05 patch, this time setup finished successfully.
No (new) errors founf in few days sfter upgrade.

Andrej
I had the exact same error. Thanks for your help. Rebooting then disabling Symantec Endpoint Protection did the trick. Awesome! Thank you!!!
Ist es “normal” das in der GUI weiterhin 9.00 angezeigt wird obwohl Upgrades gelaufen sind und omnicheck auch 9.04 anzeigt?
Hi,
yes, thats normal. After the upgrade the clients and the cell server still show 9.00. You will see the installed patch bundle as build version or when viewing the properties of a client.
I’ll include in one of the next BRICK versions the installed patches/patch bundles in a report.
Best regards
Daniel
There doesn’t seem to be any directions/documentation on how to backup VMs that are located in a VVOL container using SAN based transport. Right now on 9.04 the backup specifications for VMs in a VVOL container onyl run at NBDSL.
Regards,
Ryan
Hi Ryan,
yes, your are right, using VVOL’s no SAN transport mode is possible.
Currently this is a limitation from VMware.
If possible configure the machines to use transport mode NBD instead of NBDSL, as NBD is faster in this case.
Best regards
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
Can you try the new feature: “Automated Replication Synchronization” ? I can’t find any documentation about this.
Thanks
Diogo
Hi Diogo,
Will try to find time to create an article regarding the replication.
Best regards
Daniel
