I just got the same problem on my CM/IS after. I first added Desember patches to the server, then DPWIN_00490. Afterwards no jobs was able to write to tape. Tapes where loaded but no data written. Problem was solved by reinstalling patches.
Which patchlevel did you experience this problem?
I just got a SSPNT611_033, but according to the description it’s just intended for clients. The message from HP is for the CM/IS to reinstall 2010/06/22 patches for core, cs or gui and then reinstall DPWIN_00490. Is this the same SSP you got?
Hi Bjorn, I also installed the December patches including VEPA – DPWIN_00490. To solve the problem I reinstalled the December patches, but excluded the VEPA patch. I did not open a call so far as it was not a priority. However, SSPNT611_033 is the right fix and there are 2 other SSPs after the december patches.
I had the same issue after adding DPWIN_490 to a CM that had the December patches installed.
Called HP to ask for SSPNT611_033. During the call, the tech told me that the December patches are not compatible with DPWIN_00490. His advice was to roll back to DPWIN_00455, 456, 457, etc. and then install 490 plus SSPNT_033. I did that and regular backups plus the VEPA integration are working for me. YMMV
Do you have the reference numbers for all the ssp’s released in december?
Had different issue after patching with 00490 – everything seemed to work fine but when starting a copy job then rds died.
Wondering how many of the vepa bugs they will manage to compile into 6.2 before release or will we be fixing them again…

Hi, at the end of december SSP’s 032, 033 and 034 were released.
Normally I don’t comment on your posts but I wanted to let you know I have placed a link to your page on my blog. I was thinking that maybe you could benefit from my visitors since we have somewhat similar pages.
I would appreciate a link back 😉 Check your link out here http://www.hermsenmedia.nl
