You could also list the media contents from the Restore context menu. Just change the view to List from media. This is more of less the same information provided by omnimm -list_media SYN123L6 –detail or omnimm -catalog SYN123L6

Is there any script which lists the media catalog of a complete session?
We have one clustered file server with 15 volumes, 20 volume hard links and 100 millions files. It’s hardly impossible to locate single files or directories in the internal database. I would prefer a complete file list which could be scanned with GREP.
Hi Michael,
using the command
omnidb -session 2013/04/02-4 -detail
you could list the objects for the session, grep for object name and use this as input for the command I described in the article. Example output of the command here:Object name : consult-nb06:/F 'consult-nb06 [/F]'
.Best regards
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
because of the large file server and many volumes, I’ve to deal with 63 objects and about 50 B6200 media.
It would be really nice to get an universal session-catalog report or script.
Regards,
Michael
Hi Micheal,
In your case there is no single command available. A script is required to do the job. You could prepare an enhancement request to ask HP for a single command.
Best regards
Daniel
Hi all
The command:
omnidb -filesearch host.domain /aaa/bbb/ccc/dir_name file_name
is producing the following output:
ObjType ObjName Description PathName
=====================================================================================
FileSystem host.domain:/aaa/bbb/ccc „/aaa/bbb/ccc“ /aaa/bbb/ccc/dir_name/file_name
How can I list all „Backup versions“ of that file?
Thanks
George
Hi Georg,
what version of Data Protector you are using?
Best regards
Daniel
Hi Daniel
I am using:
omnidb -version
HP Data Protector A.09.00: OMNIDB, internal build 87, built on Tue 10 Jun 2014 04:08:07 PM CEST

Hi Georg,
sorry for the delay… Need to check this first.
Will inform you once I have found a solution.
Best regards
